OF THE HELLENIC FENCING FEDERATION



Last year, the city of Florina gained the great bet, when hosted for the first time the World Cup ''Florina 2007'' in Women’s Epee. Our being together this year, here, is nothing but the real recognition of this successful organizational effort.

I can assure you, then, that there is more eager preparation and more enthusiasm in this year’s effort since the level is too high. Our purpose is high level competitions to take place and gain confidence of the International Fencing Federation.

An additional element of interest of World Cup ''Florina 2008'' (KALLIPATIRA 2008) competition is that consists a criterion of success in a preliminary test for the Olympic Games of Beijing. It justifies the participation of high level international fencers and specifies an important two – day competition.

On behalf of the Hellenic Fencing Federation, I welcome you in the border city of Macedonia. I wish to dominate the great athletic spirit and noble emulation, values in which we all believe.
